About the Role

At Ipsilon Belgium, we are looking for a driven and technically skilled professional to join our Chemistry team. As a Qualified European Patent Attorney, you are the expert in chemical inventions. You will be responsible for managing and building your own client portfolio, advising, filing applications, and engaging in strategic consultation with our clients.

You work in a dynamic environment within the latest developments in the chemical sector. This includes:

• Pharmaceuticals
• Agrochemicals
• Dyes & Pigments
• Polymer & Plastics Industry

Your Profile

To take on this challenge, you bring the following to the table:

• You hold a master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. A PhD is considered a plus.
• You are a Qualified European Patent Attorney (passed the EQE).
• You are fluent in both spoken and written English. A good knowledge of Dutch and/or French is considered a plus.
• You are a true ‘advisor’: you possess analytical skills, sound judgment, and are result- and client-oriented.

Your Responsibilities
As a Patent Attorney, you are the contact person for your clients and are responsible for:

• Patent Procedures: Independently drafting and filing patent applications, and handling various patent procedures including opposition and appeal.
• Portfolio Management: Managing clients’ patent portfolios and providing strategic advice.
• Client Relations: Maintaining active relationships, proactively advising on IP strategy, and ensuring high-quality service.
• Business Development: Building your own client portfolio through networking, writing professional articles, giving presentations, and approaching potential new clients.
• Team & Administration: You work closely with the team, plan your activities efficiently, and ensure accurate timesheet registration and billing.
