About the role

At Ipsilon Belgium, we are looking for a driven and technically grounded professional to join our Electronics team. As a Patent Engineer, you are a technical expert in the field of electronics. You will undergo training with the ambition to advance to Patent Attorney. You are a self-starter who can quickly get up to speed on complex technical subjects, someone who can think analytically alongside our clients.

You work in a dynamic environment involving the latest developments in electronics, ICT, mechanics, mechatronics, and/or physics.

Your Profile
To meet this challenge, you bring the following:

• You possess a Master’s degree or PhD with a background in electronics or electromechanics (or equivalent).
• You are preferably perfectly bilingual (English + Dutch/French) in speech and writing.
• Passive knowledge of German or French/Dutch is a plus.
• You can work independently, possess analytical skills, sound judgment, and are driven to achieve the best results.
• You have perseverance and are willing to train and study.

Your Responsibilities
As a Patent Engineer, working under the guidance of your mentor, you will work on patent applications, grant procedures, and providing advice on ongoing cases in the field of patent law.

• You will familiarize yourself with regulations, case law, and developments in your own field, and keep track of any changes.
• You will participate in periodic, technically focused team meetings as well as project meetings, conferences, seminars, lectures, and discussions.
• You will (actively) participate periodically in work meetings within your own team.
• You will effectively plan your own activities.
• You will contribute to internal projects.
